Hello,
Wanted to take just a moment and let you guys know about this special singing happening on October 14 ,2007. This homecoming singing has been a special event for my family for many years. This year will be even more special with the service being dedicated to my father and grandfather. Dad passed away Sept. 16, 2006 and this singing was very special to him. It will be my honor to M.C. on behalf of the church family as well as my family. Some of the groups you will hear are The Bud Stephens Quartet, The Watchmen, The Resurrection Quartet, The Songmen Quartet and of course The Tennesseans. The concert will start at 1:30p.m. right after dinner on the grounds. Make your plans to attend this service as we honor the late Gary Stephens and the late Bud Stephens.

NQC Revisited

Hello,
My wife and I got to spend Monday and Tuesday of this past week at NQC in Louisville, Ky. Monday night, which used to be quartet night, was very interesting and most of the groups that performed were fresh and performed well. The only standouts in my mind were the Florida Boys, Talleys, and the Booth Brothers. Well, their was one other stand out, and that was the Pfiefers. I don't know what they were thinking, but they came out with some of the worst gospel music Ive ever heard. I'm all for trying new things but, man it was rough. After the first song, my wife and I got up and went to see some of the artist at their booths. Incidentally the next night many people left during their performance. I think they should consider changing genre's of music or something. Tuesday night was good as well with some really good performances. However I did notice lots of stacked vocals and over-produced music tracks. I guess its just part of the game. Did meet with the personal from Canaan Records, and it sounds like a place where the Tennesseans would like to land soon. Overall we had a good visit on our mini-vacation and look forward to setting up for the first time next year. Want to say thanks to Kerry Ledbetter for getting us great rooms, and to Big D, for the passes.
Blessings

Begging for Money

Hello,
Its a shame that Christians cant watch Christian television without some preacher begging for money. Many of them have good things to say but they always seem to come back to that "we cant stay on the air without your support". How ridiculous that statement is !!!!!!!! Thats like saying "well God isn't big enough to supply all our needs so He needs your money". I feel so sorry for those who get sucked into giving their hard earned money to the t.v. preachers. If they could only see the lavish lifestyles they live away from the t.v. Did we not learn anything from Jim and Tammy Bakker? Most of them make Millions of dollars every year while their supports or "partners live in poverty" Shame on them!!!
Gear Change,
Looking forward to spending the day at Beech-grove Cumberland Pres. Church Sept. 9. Good food and good memories. This was my dads home church before he passed last year. Make your plans to come out and enjoy some good quartet singing!
Blessings

New Found Freedom

Hello,
When we took pictures for our site we were still in the process of building our band. There is nothing better than having real live musicians to back up the quartet. When tracks first came on the scene back in the early 80s, gospel music fans hated them. Matter-of-fact many preachers would not book you into their church if you used tracks. Now tracks have almost completely taken over the industry. Im thankful that God has given us the opportunity to sing with live musicians. Yes it takes longer to set up, more space in the trailor and yes more mouths to feed, but its worth it. For our visitors to this sight I would like you to know we sing the old time songs like Old Country Church, Send the Light, and Living in Caanan. We utilize a three piece band in concert and we dress conservative or traditional Southern Gospel (No spiked hair or wild clothing). We will travel anywhere in the state of Tennessee for a love offering.
2008 is filling up fast, call or email today to schedule us for a service at your church.
Blessings

What a day!!!!!!
Did you ever have one of those days where Murphy moved into your spare bedroom? Man was it ever hot and on top of the heat my faithful BMW decided to overheat. Instead of calling a tow truck, I tried to repair it myself. "Big Mistake", wasted a whole day, and still had to have it towed home. Tried to repair it at home and it still isnt working. Yesterday our home A/C unit went out and we had to call the repair person for that. Two hundred dollars later, it goes out again.
I must move on,,, Deon called wanted to go hear the Isaacs in Clarksville, Tn this evening however with all the crisis situations I decided to pass. Tommorrow morning I will be in the studio finishing up our first recording. Right now Im working on a special medly of songs we will be doing after the first of the year. Lots of birthdays this month including my daughter megan on the 22nd. My birthday is on the 18th and for those shopping for me, well its very easy "HDTV", so I can see the Andy Griffith Show up close and personel.
